Brain City

A digitised illustration depicting a dystopian, futuristic city that has succumbed to tight, competitive living conditions. A commentary on class, combing themes of hierarchy and sci-fi imagery to depict a feeling of social decline and over population. Intricacies within the city borrow heavily from styles of architecture, specifically brutalism and victorian-era industrialism. The work aims to anthropomorphise the city as a living creature. Sprawling veins represent an interconnected life force within the city, similar to a mycelium network. As the city gives with one hand, it takes with the other. Giving life to itself and others, while also slowly suffocating in a deathly embrace.
