Description
Venus 38 portrays one of Venus's largest shield volcanoes, Ma'at Mons. Named after the Egyptian goddess of truth and balance. She is shown here polluting the planet's atmosphere with deadly sulphur dioxide, and carbon dioxide. The image was inspired by one of the radar images taken during NASA's 1981 Magellan mission, which was successful in mapping over 83% of the planet's surface.
